December meeting

With everyone busy for the holiday we enjoyed a great dinner at Al Fresco Italian Restaurant in Newport News. The company was great and the food was too.


We also had a birthday to celebrate - what better to do it with than Chocolate Fondant cake.

November meeting

What better to do with the Holiday season approaching than paining some christmas decorations. We went to Little Secrets Ceramics in Virginia Beach to do just that.

October meeting

Self defense was the moto of this months meeting. We met with Jim Barnes who taught us some moves that will help protect us from harm.

September Meeting

We met with Officer Parker of the Newport News Police Department. He went over important safety information with us and then was nice enough to let us check out his car and pose for pictures.

August meeting

Wow Summer is almost over and so is Jenny's (left) year. She will leave us next week and we will miss her. Today was her last meeting with us.

July Meeting

We had a great Host Family picnic at Newport News park.

Lots of good food and even entertainment for the kids in form of a turtle they found. For all the pictures for this event please click on the 2008 - July link on the right

June Meeting

We met at the Chesapeak LCC's river house with the other 3 groups to have a fun weekend at the water.
We jet skied, went tubing, swam had a cook out and fire by the beach.

April meeting - self defense

Despite it being a bit chilli we did have fun at todays meeting.

Master Jim Barnes came out to teach us some self defense moves

Bowling - March Meeting

We bowled and celebrated Cicilias birthday. Sara and Franzi brought her some cute little cupcakes we all enjoyed. We also had a good time playing one of Americas favorite past times

Fire safety - February meeting

We met up with the Williamsburg group for our Fire and Poison Safety meeting and were welcomed by the crew of Station 6 in Newport News.

We learned about the gear and equipment the fire fighters use as well as what to use if there is a kitchen fire in your home (be sure to keep the flower handy!!)

Unfortunately our Question and Answer was cut short as the crew had to leave to attend an emergency call.

We'll see them again next year. Everyone be safe and remember what you learned.

ICE SKATING

January's meeting was ICE skating. Everyone decided to take a chance on the weather and brave the outdoor ring at the Newport News City Center. We had so much fun.
