Hello and Goodbye's - June meeting

It was nice to meet our newest arrival, Ines from Germany at today's meeting. She just joined her family this past Friday.

I love when Au pairs come to visit after their time as Au pairs so I was thrilled to hear one of my former Au pairs (Matilda from Sweden, was visiting this summer and was coming to tonight's meeting. Its great to catch up and see all the things the Au pairs have accomplished since leaving after their time here. I even got to quickly chat with her former host mom and one of the kids. Its always fun to see everyone.

With new arrivals we also have Au pairs leaving. We have 3 au pairs that left/are leaving this month, Katherine, Carolina and Sarita I hope you all stay in touch it was great to get to know you. Good luck with school and work and all the fun plans heading your way.

March Au pair meeting

Spring has arrived - or Summer as it felt like today :)

Originally our March meeting was going to be bowling but there were no available lanes and with it being a wonderful day we decided a walk through Merchant Square

and Colonial Williamsburg would be a great second choice.

As always all pictures of today's meeting can be found on the right hand site under the March 2010 link

February Meeting at Fire Station 6

February meeting was the Fire and Poison Prevention CEP meeting at Fire Station 6. Here are the guys from the A-shift with our groups

We got to tour the station and see the equipment. 2 minutes is all you get to put on all these clothes.

We go to see what it feels like to ride in the truck. Here is Lina from Columbia our newest arrival.

We learned how to use a Fire extinguisher.
And we saw how far up the 75Ft ladder really goes. We got lucky one of the guys not only climbed it but also took my camera along to snap some pics. Pretty high up

Thank you again to the Newport News Fire department especially to the A-shift from Station 6. As always all of the pictures from the meeting can be found here or on the side bar under February 2010

Ice skating in Hampton

We had lots of fun meeting up ice skating today. We met up with the Williamsburg group and some au pairs from other agencies. Here is everyone taking a break from the ice while the staff tried to get rid of some water. It had warmed all of a sudden so the ice was melting rapidly This was Delia's (R) last meeting before heading back to Panama. As always click on the link on the right side Jan 2010 for all of todays pictures.
