Summer meetings
Well it looks like Christmas is right around the corner.
Our meetings this summer were very low key as everyone had lots of things to do. We did our usual September meeting with the Newport News Police of course. Officer Parker was telling us about the importance of being safe and then let us take lots of pictures. We also had a former Au pair join us. Claudia from Austria was in town on vacation and decided to stop by for old times sake and get arrested. As always for all the pictures click on the link of September 2009 in the right hand panel
Our October meeting will be filled with Pumpkins and cake so come one by and have some

June - Water safety meeting
We had a great time on the york river. The Jones Family let us go tubing which was awesome and everyone had lots of fun. The weather could have been better but at least this way the water felt warm.
We did go over the water and playground safety as well.and adhered to it by wearing life wests. :)
As always you can go see all of todays photos by clicking on the June 2009 link on the right

February Meeting - Fire house 6
Its that time of the year again - CEP meeting time. We met up with the A shift of Newport News Fire house #6. The firefighters were kind enough to go over important fire and poison prevention tips as well as what to do in case of a fire. After all that we got to tour the station including the sleeping rooms and experience what it looks/sounds like to be woken up. After touring the station we got to check out the trucks and take some pictures.
Looks like we had more Firefighters than au pairs this year :)
They even got the ladder truck out and someone climbed all the way up to show just how far its up.
And here are the girls with the useful little handouts that the firefighters gave us.
Thanks again station 6 and we will see you again next year. For all pictures of todays meeting click on the February 2009 link on the right hand

January Meeting - Ice skating
What better to do on a cold and rainy Sunday than to go Ice skating.
not everyone made it on the ice - sitting next to the heater was more comfy
It was great there were barely any people besides us there. Host mom chatting with one of the au pairs. Host mom with one of the host kids with me and the au pairs in the background.
The ring will be up for some more time - if you haven't been go check it out it was lots of fun. They have a skate rental and even a company doing catering if you feel like having some hot cocoa.
